CLAY Student Leadership the program
The program CLAY Student Leadership works through school systems to engage at-risk students of any race or nationality, to help them to identify, learn, and apply leadership values designed to help them to be successful at life. CLAY also seeks to engage the parents of at-risk students, to help them to train and identify with their students. CLAY is a six-year program designed to provide leadership and life-skills training for students and their families from the 7th to 12th grade. The program is complete with leadership curriculum and interactive team-building events for the students and their families. CLAY becomes a highlight in the students’ lives, beginning in their middle school years and going on though high school.
The program recently completed its first year in partnership with Texas A&M International University, successfully incorporating the leadership curriculum in ten school districts. This partnership is now in its second year, with a contract for seven more years working together. Together CLAY and TAMIU are targeting twenty-seven school districts throughout the South Texas area. In addition to this venture, CLAY is currently present in four states and 12 school districts.
