CLAY goes International . . . .

CLAY Student Leadership begins its first chapter in the country of Mexico.
CLAY continues to grow with Texas A&M International . . . .

CLAY Student Leadership signs a second-year contract with Texas A&M International University and continues to grow and expand into 27 Independent School Districts, encompassing more than 50 public school campuses, more than 8,000 students, and more than 4,000 parents. In November our president, Abel Lopez, trained more than 40 facilitators at the A&M campus. We are so excited about our partnership with a university of this prestige.

CLAY forms a new partnership with the Hispanic Youth Institute . . . .

In April of 2011 our president, Abel Lopez, began discussions regarding ways to further impact Latino students in the Texas area. CLAY Student Leadership was invited to present its program at the HYI summer camp, where we reached over 200 students and family leaders. The event was a success, and a new partnership was formalized. Director Esmeralda Sanchez’s vision to incorporate CLAY into the HYI program was a perfect blend for two such organizations with the same outlook and goals. Stay tuned as CLAY continues to grow and impact students throughout the U.S.

We have recently entered into a partnership with Texas A&M International University Laredo .

In April of 2010 we began this relationship with TAMIU when our president, Abel Lopez, was invited to be the keynote speaker for their one-day parent/student event. The following month A&M directors Dr. Albert Salinas and Mr. Michael Smith came and witnessed the program in full force. A partnership was birthed with a verbal agreement between CLAY Student Leadership and TAMIU, which has now become official. The two organizations signed a contract in November with plans of venturing out to greater action in the future. Today CLAY and TAMIU are writing history together, and impacting the lives of students and parents in the South Texas area, which will create transformation for generations to come.

“We are honored to be in partnership with such an elite university and team at TAMIU. Dr. Madrigal’s vision has ignited the South Texas border towns, and has empowered key men like Dr. Albert Salinas and Mr. Michael Smith to forever write on the walls of History. Their passion and creativity will take our Latino population in this part of the country to new levels of education and success. I am excited about the future and the results we will see as both organizations battle to reduce the High School drop out rate among Latinos in our country.” -Abel Lopez, President and Founder of CLAY Student Leadership

Abel Lopez and Clay Student Leadership have been given the opportunity to launch a new initiative in the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District. During the 2009-2010 school year, the school district has contracted with Clay Student Leadership to provide leadership training to 460 students and their parents for 27 weeks. During these weeks, Abel Lopez and his team will be teaching leadership principles, leading parent seminars, and providing team building activities. This program is the first of its kind and has the potential to impact the lives of hundreds of families in the community.

Clay Student Leadership is dedicated to the well-being and positive empowerment of families and youth. It is very encouraging and inspiring to work with such a professional and caring organization that meets challenges with creative and successful tools that work!”
